Daniel J. Kobasic Memorial STEM Scholarship ($15,000)
The Daniel J. Kobasic Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a student pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM). This scholarship is renewable up to 4 years from the award year and is paid directly to the college or university. The candidate must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and demonstrate a strong work ethic and depth of character. A personal essay is required with the application and a video interview with a Foundation representative(s) is required for final candidates. Final selection of the recipient will be determined by the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee, appointed by the Kobasic Family. Financial need is considered but not a prerequisite for award.
Scholarship Terms - renewable for four years on the conditions of:
1. Full-time enrollment in focused STEM degree,
2. Academic performance maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0, and
3. Appropriate behavioral conduct.
Scholarship applications are open graduating seniors from the following High Schools:
Escanaba Public
Holy Name
Gladstone Area
Bark River-Harris
Rapid River
Mid Peninsula
Big Bay de Noc
Krystal C. Kobasic Nursing Scholarship ($15,000)
The Krystal C. Kobasic Scholarship is awarded annually to a student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This scholarship is renewable up to 4 years from the award year and is paid directly to the college or university. The candidate must have a minimum GPA of 3.75, possess a strong work ethic and demonstrate dedication to helping others. A personal essay is also required with the application and a video interview with a Foundation representative(s) is required for final candidates. Final selection of the recipient will be determined by the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation Scholarship selection committee. Financial need is considered but not a prerequisite for award.

2. Academic performance evidenced by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or above, and
3. Appropriate behavioral conduct.

The scholarship recipients will be students with demonstrated interest in the trade and a strong work ethic who will pursue a certificate in welding. Tuition payment will be made directly to Bay De Noc Community College. Final selection of the recipient will be determined by the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation Scholarship selection committee. Financial need is considered but not a prerequisite for award.

2. Academic performance evidenced by maintaining a GPA of 2.0 or above, and
3. Appropriate behavioral conduct.
